Ruth Moore, PhD

Doctor of Psychoneuroimmunology

(Mind-Body Medicine)

Dr. Ruth Moore holds a PhD in psychoneuroimmunology, which is the study of mind-body medicine. As the first doctor with this degree in the state of Maine and one of few in the country, she brings a unique and innovative perspective to healthcare—one that truly bridges the gap between allopathic and natural approaches to health and well-being. She is board certified in both functional and integrative medicine, as well as clinical aromatherapy, allowing her to take a truly holistic approach to healing. As a functional health and lifestyle wellness practitioner, she empowers patients to achieve balance and well-being through personalized, evidence-based strategies, integrating them into a structured wellness plan.

This wellness plan takes a whole-person approach, analyzing each patient’s physical health, emotional well-being, and lifestyle factors to identify areas that need support. From there, Dr. Ruth crafts a customized, step-by-step plan that incorporates nutrition, stress management, movement, and therapeutic interventions to restore balance and optimize long-term health. From time to time, she refers patients to other providers in the office, seamlessly integrating their expertise into the wellness plan based on individual needs to ensure the most comprehensive and well-rounded care possible.

In addition to her expertise in mind-body medicine, Dr. Ruth integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities into her practice, including reflexology, acupressure, bioresonance, light therapy, cranial sacral therapy, DORN (holistic kinesiology), and other mind-body techniques. With a deep commitment to whole-person wellness, she looks beyond symptoms to assess a patient’s lifestyle, stress levels, and overall well-being, addressing the root causes of health challenges and guiding them toward sustainable, long-term wellness.

Lisa Grant, MSN, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

As a family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience, Lisa understands the importance of blending modern medical care with a broader, more integrative approach. While she is trained in allopathic medicine, she also recognizes that true wellness isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about addressing root causes and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.

Lisa works alongside Dr. Ruth to bridge the gap between conventional and natural healthcare. Her practice is grounded in rigorous science and research, ensuring that every recommendation is backed by strong clinical evidence. At the same time, she values a patient-centered approach that considers each individual’s lifestyle and overall well-being. By combining modern medicine with holistic principles, Lisa helps patients take an active role in their health, creating a path toward long-term wellness.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Lisa takes the time to educate and empower her patients, ensuring they understand their options and feel confident in their care. She believes in fostering a collaborative relationship, where patients are heard, supported, and actively involved in their treatment plans. When appropriate, she also works closely with other providers in the office, ensuring a well-rounded approach that best serves each patient’s unique needs.

Samantha McMannis, LMT.png

Samantha McMannis, LMT

Medical Massage Therapist

Samantha is a licensed massage therapist specializing in medical and sports massage with a focus on injury prevention, acute and chronic pain, mobility, and women’s health. She takes a highly specific, targeted approach, addressing specific soft tissue restrictions and imbalances rather than providing full-body or relaxation massage. Because of this, sessions are typically much shorter and structured for long-term results.

Her sessions incorporate a variety of evidence-based techniques, including soft tissue and myofascial work, trigger point therapy, cupping, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching, and other techniques designed to improve circulation, reduce pain and tension, and enhance mobility.

Samantha does not diagnose medical conditions, but she works in a clinical setting alongside Dr. Ruth Moore and Lisa Grant, FNP, to ensure safe, effective care. Her approach is best suited for clients looking for structured, targeted sessions to support their long-term goals and physical well-being.

Frank Higgins, BHP, DSP

Endocannabinoid Specialist & Herbalist

Frank Higgins is a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) and Direct Support Professional (DSP), as well as a wellness coach and herbalist. His primary area of expertise is the endocannabinoid system, where he provides informed guidance on the proper use of medical cannabis. Frank’s work is strictly focused on medical applications, ensuring that patients receive evidence-based recommendations tailored to their specific conditions and aligned with state regulations.

With a deep understanding of herbal medicine and patient care, Frank helps individuals navigate the complexities of medical cannabis as a therapeutic tool. His approach emphasizes responsible, condition-specific use to support overall well-being. He works closely with his patients, beginning with an in-depth consultation to assess their needs and continuing with follow-up appointments to monitor progress, adjust recommendations, and ensure their regimen is effectively supporting their health goals. By guiding patients every step of the way, he empowers them to make informed decisions and optimize their health outcomes.
